Text-based logomark for Agence Juban, based on Amsterdam Four and Genryu Mincho fonts

Agence Juban takes its name from a Tokyo neighborhood where narrow streets lined with Edo-era shops hum with the voices of diplomats and expats from around the world. The name reflects the range of our international experience and cross-cultural perspectives. It also reflects our belief that the best advice requires both technical skills refined over many years and a unconscious connection to the material you’re working with.

ヴィェレッギ デール

For 20+ years, Dale has been a trusted advisor to senior executives in business, government, politics, and civil society, and a strategy, people, and change leader in a variety of public affairs consultancies.

After earning degrees from Northwestern and Michigan, he entered public affairs via political polling and message testing at Burson-Marsteller, where in-market research for Intel and Microsoft provided introduction to China at the height of its growth.

During the Obama years, Dale pivoted to public sector consulting. He managed the creation of federal websites and other digital citizen services, designed and implemented community-based emergency preparedness programs, and led digital-first public health campaigns for HHS agencies and divisions.

In 2016, Dale was recruited to APCO to help digitally transforms the firm’s core capabilities. To begin, he co-created a suite of intelligence tools that integrated social data with opinion research. Later, as co-lead for digital strategy, he co-designed a digital competency framework and a program to upskill client-facing staff in all 35 offices globally.

After leaning into several opportunities in Japan—and flying there at his own expense, Dale became the tenth member of APCO’s Tokyo office in 2019.

Over the next 6 years, he helped both clients and colleagues to bridge various divides—cultural, organizational, political—and to collaborate to realize shared strength. He also served as the region’s learning and development lead, advised APCO’s new Asia chairwoman, and became deputy managing director of an office that had doubled in headcount and nearly tripled in revenue.

Dale and his husband now live in Paris, France, an ideal base to support global organizations who value his connections in US business and politics, his knowledge of Japanese issues and processes, and his proximity to European policymaking.
